Samsung’s TV Lineup Adds NFT Support for 2022

The new TV lineup for 2022 by Samsung will include a screen-based explorer and NFT marketplace aggregator as part of the updated features.

The vast technological brand Samsung will now add the support for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame TV ranges, through making an on-screen addition for the NFT marketplace.

The new TV lineup for 2022 by Samsung will include a screen-based explorer and NFT marketplace aggregator as part of the updated features supporting non-fungible tokens (NFTs)

This innovative platform will allow the users to browse, purchase, and present their favorite art, in one place.

In addition, through Samsung’s MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame TV lines, the platform will offer an easy, unified mechanism for observing, acquiring, and trading digital artwork. Moreover, users will be able to learn about the history of the NFT and blockchain metadata prior to making the acquisition.

Coupled with other features, smart calibration will be supported on the TVs, allowing NFT creators to use display settings for creating preset values which the TVs will by default adjust the customized setting to match other presents so that users can know that their work is flawless and retain the quality of the original image.

The rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) during the last year has had a huge impact on the increasing number of trading volumes. By the end of 2021 alone, trading volume has surged to $10 billion in Q3, having incurred a 38,000% increase YoY. Beeple, the NFT artist, represents an example of the rise of NFTs where a single NFT was sold for $69 million.

Similarly, NFTs were the main topic of discussion at Miami’s Art Basel town, while other worldwide art galleries have been struggling to find a way to present NFT artwork.

Despite the launch of the new TV lineup for the year 2022, Samsung has been involved in the crypto industry previously. Back in the year 2019, Samsung introduced the Samsung Blockchain Wallet on the S10 Galaxy, and it provided support for cryptocurrencies to its smartphones. After a year, this brand added a crypto-powered video streaming platform called Theta to its Galaxy phones, and later in the year, Samsung facilitated support for crypto hardware wallets in Samsung Blockchain Wallet.

Meanwhile, a new central bank digital currency (CBDC) pilot was released from the Bank of Korea in collaboration with Samsung Galaxy phones.
