Galxe has unveiled Gravity, a new Layer-1 blockchain that aims to facilitate mass adoption and support an omni-chain future. The Alpha Mainnet for Gravity, which will be a rollup of Ethereum powered by Arbitrum Nitro, is scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2024. The full Gravity mainnet, featuring its native Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Layer-1 and Reth EVM execution engine, is expected to follow in Q2 2025.

Galxe, a prominent blockchain platform known for its innovative contributions to the Web3 ecosystem, is expanding its capabilities with the introduction of Gravity. Galxe has a substantial user base and a reputation for incorporating advanced technologies to improve both user experiences and developer tools. With Gravity, Galxe aims to provide a robust, scalable, and cost-efficient blockchain infrastructure.
Enhancing Efficiency and Security
Gravity is designed to offer cost-efficient Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) verification. This feature aims to minimize blockchain operational overhead, making transactions more economical and secure. The integration of ZKP technology ensures that Gravity can handle transactions efficiently, an essential feature for broader blockchain adoption.
A significant innovation of Gravity is its capability to enable developers to define and settle transactions across multiple blockchains. This functionality enhances the efficiency and security of cross-chain operations, addressing a critical challenge within the blockchain industry. By enabling seamless interactions between different blockchains, Gravity opens up new possibilities for decentralized applications and services.
To further enhance user experience, Gravity introduces cryptographic primitives such as the secp256r1 curve using precompiled contracts. This allows for cost-effective passkey authentication for Account Abstraction wallets, significantly boosting security and usability. Simplifying the process of managing and securing digital assets is crucial for attracting a broader audience to blockchain technology.
Gravity combines the high-throughput Reth execution layer with the Jolteon consensus algorithm, providing near-instant transaction finality. This combination ensures that transactions are processed swiftly and efficiently, which is essential for mass adoption. The native PoS blockchain will be secured by staking and restaking protocols such as Babylon and EigenLayer, enhancing the network’s robustness.
Leveraging Galxe’s Ecosystem
Gravity will enable developers building Web3 applications to leverage Galxe’s existing ecosystem of 20 million users. This integration offers developers a significant advantage, providing them with access to a large user base and a suite of tools to improve their applications. The native omnichain intent protocol offers a unified, yield-enabled balance across chains, facilitating seamless cross-chain transactions and verifications.
Gravity’s scalability and low fees also support the full on-chain implementation of loyalty points. This maximizes transparency while reducing friction for developers. By tapping into Galxe’s extensive ecosystem, Gravity aims to attract a wide range of developers and users, fostering further innovation and adoption in the blockchain space.
The project has already received substantial support, raising over $10 million from Multicoin Capital and Dragonfly Capital as of 2022. This financial backing demonstrates strong investor confidence in Gravity’s potential to transform the blockchain industry. With significant funding and a clear vision, Gravity is well-positioned to achieve its ambitious goals.
