Wallet linked to Vitalik Buterin made notable Ethereum transfers in September 2023, totaling over $3.9 million to various exchanges such as Coinbase.
In a recent series of Ethereum transactions, the spotlight is on Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum’s co-founder. Observers noticed a transfer of 400 ETH to Coinbase, amounting to roughly $600,000, from a wallet linked to Buterin. The surge of activity this month doesn’t stop there, with transactions from the same wallet exceeding $3.9 million.
Diving into the details, blockchain enthusiasts identified multiple transactions from Buterin’s associated wallet throughout September 2023. Among the standout transactions is the 400 ETH deposit to Coinbase on September 25, valued at approximately $632,000. Spot On Chain, a blockchain analytics platform, highlighted Buterin’s active transfer pattern to various centralized exchanges starting September 15. The total ETH he reportedly deposited is an astonishing 2,421 ETH, or $3.94 million.
Other Significant Transactions
Broadening the lens, further analysis showcases an array of hefty deposits. Kraken saw an inflow of 321 ETH between September 15 and 19. Meanwhile, Bitstamp received a considerable sum of 1,700 ETH through several transactions on September 17 and 20. Furthermore, a 500 ETH deposit appeared in Paxos on September 19.
Ensuring the validity of these transactions, sources confirmed numerous transfers with the help of the Nansen 2 beta’s wallet profiler. This profiler also spotlighted a substantial 2,000 ETH transfer, equivalent to $4.9 million, to the address executing these transactions from another wallet closely tied to Buterin.
Spot On Chain went on to specify that the 2,000 ETH transaction originated from a more renowned address belonging to Buterin, rather than the intermediary address involved in these exchange transactions. For those tracking Buterin’s financial moves, it might be interesting to note a 600 ETH transaction from the vitalik.eth address on August 21, which several on-chain monitoring platforms recognized.
Ethereum, being a leading cryptocurrency, garners attention for its significant trades, especially when linked to high-profile figures like Buterin. As with all cryptocurrency moves, the underlying reason for such transfers remains speculative, but it’s clear that Buterin’s recent activity has piqued interest in the blockchain community.
