Twitter, one of the world’s leading social media platforms, has recently showcased a tool that can allow users to have their NFTs as a profile picture.
This feature was visually displayed by Mada Aflak, a software engineer at Twitter. The video shows how users can connect their profile with a cryptocurrency wallet, and then they can integrate their NFTs in OpenSea as an avatar for the profile picture.
To display that the profile picture is an NFT and that it is authentic, people will have a unique badge that verifies that NFT. So if you own an expensive NFT such as a CryptoPunk, you don’t have to worry that someone else can screenshot yours and use it for flexing it as their own. Only you can have the badge for that specific NFT.

This is still just an experiment, so the tool could change in the coming weeks as more feedback is given by users.
Such an addition has made NFT traders on Twitter excited. Additional crypto integration could be imminent as suggested by Mason Nystrom, Messari Research Analyst.
For instance, NFT owners can share for how long they have owned a specific asset. Moreover, NFT owners on Twitter can connect easily with other NFT owners, and perhaps even be able to trade through Twitter profiles.
Another recent update on Twitter that further integrates cryptocurrencies is Lightning payments. This allows users to use BTC for tipping articles or complete various payments.
Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, has always been supportive of cryptocurrencies. His NFT activity was noticed when he sold the world’s first-ever tweet as an NFT.

NFTs are growing at an extraordinary rate, and they have become one of the greatest investments of 2021. Billions of dollars worth of sales have been recorded in OpenSea in the past few months, showing a huge demand for NFTs.
