MEXC, a notable player in the cryptocurrency exchange arena, has actively addressed concerns sparked by the deletion of a Twitter account purportedly linked to its CEO, John Chen Ju. This move comes amid escalating apprehension within the crypto community, following reports of account freezes and withdrawal issues from MEXC as early as December 16.
Account Deletion Leads to Speculation
The crypto community witnessed a surge in speculation when the “MEXC_CEO” Twitter account, assumed by many to be directly associated with MEXC’s CEO, was suddenly removed. This incident intensified worries about the stability of MEXC, especially in light of several traders reporting frozen accounts and difficulties in withdrawing cryptocurrencies.
In response, MEXC took to social media on December 24 to dispel the confusion. The exchange clarified that the Twitter account in question was indeed used officially in the past to promote MEXC’s activities. However, they noted that the CEO who had been associated with the account had parted ways with the company in July 2022. Since then, the account had no genuine connection with MEXC’s official operations.
MEXC acknowledged the absence of a formal announcement regarding this significant change, admitting that this led to the widespread misunderstanding following the account’s abrupt deletion.
Commitment to Transparency
MEXC expressed regret over any misunderstandings caused by these developments and committed to more transparent communication concerning significant personnel changes in the future, especially those impacting official media accounts.
Amidst these events, MEXC has been actively countering what it describes as a wave of misinformation and baseless claims aimed at tarnishing its reputation. The exchange specifically mentioned issues reported by users related to delays in withdrawals, particularly involving Kaspa (KAS) tokens.
Despite these claims, MEXC reassures its users that the platform is functioning smoothly and all systems are operational. The firm sternly opposes any form of defamation or spread of false information and reserves the right to take legal action against such activities.
