McDonald's is Planning to Join the Metaverse through "Virtual Restaurant"

The giant fast-food company McDonald’s has announced its plans for joining the virtual restaurants in the Metaverse. The new attraction, Metaverse, is inciting many huge companies worldwide to join the virtual world. The most recent one to join this virtual reality is McDonald’s. In light of this exploration, on the 4th of February, McDonald’s has filed 12 trademarks. In more detail, 11/12 trademarks are about virtual restaurants, cafes, symbols, and other virtual services.

Gerben Intellectual Property is a trademark legal company founded by trademark attorney Josh Gerben. Additionally, Gerben was the first to draw notice to the applications on Twitter. In regard, he noted that the fast-food chain had filed an impressive total of 10 applications.

According to the attorney, the trademarks imply that the corporation may be planning to provide a real feeling of the restaurant in a virtual environment. In particular, the fast-food chain aims to offer a virtual restaurant that includes both real and virtual items. Among other things, McDonald’s intends to run a virtual restaurant with home delivery. 

McDonalds and Its NFTs

Diving into details of the application, McDonald’s will provide a varied range of downloadable multimedia files. They will give these files for different purposes such as artwork, audio, video files, and of course, non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

In addition, McDonald’s also registered McCafe as a trademark for the Metaverse domain name. The brand would offer entertainment services such as online virtual concerts and other events. Looking to other plans, the American fast-food brand includes things that can be downloaded, like virtual food, drink items, and places where people can meet up online.
