While Google Searches for Bitcoin Decline, Searches for Web 3.0 Increase

While global searches for “Bitcoin” in Google search keeps declining amidst the bear market, “Web 3” has been on the rise.

At least, that’s what Google search trends suggest.

Recent months have shown a significant decline in searches for various crypto-related topics, including Bitcoin, NFTs, and many more. To add more to that, the searches for the term “Bitcoin Dead” have increased recently, reaching an all-time high, suggesting that fear among crypto enthusiasts that the bear market has caused.

However, while the above-mentioned imply pessimism, the term “Web 3” has reached its all-time high in terms of searches in Google. Throughout 2022, the interest in Web 3.0 has increased, as developers are now moving to a decentralized internet.

In terms of demographics, most searches for Bitcoin come from El Salvador, given that BTC is a legal tender there. As for Web 3.0, most searches presumably come from China, despite the latter having banned cryptocurrencies.

Recently, the Nigerian Government is slowly moving toward more crypto adoption. Hence, it is no surprise that Nigeria ranks in the top three for both Bitcoin and Web3 in terms of Google searches.

In other news, Google is also working on crypto adoption. The world’s biggest search engine recently added a feature that supports the identification of blockchain addresses.
