McDonald’s has been chastised by Dogecoin (DOGE) supporters for their bungled reply to Elon Musk’s proposal.
McDonald’s is facing serious criticism after taking a long time to reply to Elon Musk’s proposal apart from finally delivering a response which was disappointing, to say the least.
The fast-food titan based in Chicago received a Twitter proposal from Elon Musk. As reported by Crypto Academy on Tuesday, Elon Musk tweeted that if McDonald’s accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) he would eat a Happy Meal on TV.
The response of McDonald’s to this offer was a conditional one, saying that the corporation would accept Dogecoin (DOGE) if “Grimacecoin” is accepted by Tesla.
While “Grimacecoin” is a fictitious cryptocurrency, Grimace, a purple humanoid character who first appeared in McDonald’s advertisements in the early 1970s, was the inspiration for the coin’s name. It was going to be a nefarious-looking figure with four arms who stole milkshakes from kids. Nonetheless, McDonald’s creative officer Roy Bergold stated for QSR Magazine that “Evil Grimace” was a mistake as it was too frightening for the children.
In response, someone actually took it upon themselves to create the Grimacecoin on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) immediately after the tweet, which spiked over 261,000% prior to losing the lion’s share of its earnings in a matter of hours.

Investors should be incredibly careful seeing as Binance Smart Chain (BSC) has become a hub for rapid pump-and-dump projects and this is because of the low barrier to entry.
The reply was largely disappointing to the Dogecoin (DOGE) community. Numerous members of the community emphasized that such an option took the company’s marketing team almost 10 hours to devise.
It really took McDonald’s 10 hours to draw that up smh my head

Billy Markus was unimpressed by the Grimacecoin tweet, saying that even though it could have been funny, this is a perfect example of how to make fun things utterly unlikable.
Glauber Contessoto shared the sentiment by saying that McDonald’s wasted a perfect chance to make a hilarious joke which turned out to be really terrible.
