Kanye West Rejects Joining NFTs

Kanye West Becomes One of the Few Celebrities Who Oppose NFTs

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have gained a lot of attention, attracting many celebrities to join this space. However, Kanye West has publicly announced that he does not want to be part of the NFT space.

As the NFT space is experiencing enormous growth each day, some people just do not support the development of this field. Even some artists do not see a good potential by joining the NFT space. The most recent one is the famous Hip-Hop artist Kanye West (also known as Ye), who just stated that he is not pro-NFTs.

Is Kanye West Against NFTs?

In his official Instagram account, Ye made a post in which he obviously emphasizes that he does not want to do an NFT. Through Ye’s words in his post, he clarifies that his main focus lies in building real products in the real world. He sounds a bit annoyed by questions regarding NFTs.

On the other hand, artists like Eminem, Neymar, Jake Paul have already joined the NFT space. Despite this, West stands in the opposite for participating in NFTs. Kayne West joins a growing list of NFT-skeptics, including celebrities such as Keanu Reeves. In an interview for the Matrix Resurrections, actor Keanu Reeves remarked that NFTs might be easily replicated.

NFT enthusiasts seem to be sad about the artist’s decision. They feel discouraged by Kanye’s attitude towards the future development of NFTs. Anyways, at least West has made his position regarding NFTs known for now. He is not going to jump into NFTs anytime soon, and he isn’t influenced by other artists’ decisions… as always.

The new album of West, named Donda 2, is likely to make its debut on the 22nd of February. However, Kanye West usually delays his albums, as he did with his last album, Donda. So, we cannot know when his next album is coming for sure.
