Instagram To Implement In-App NFT Minting and Trading Tools Purchases

Instagram is planning to implement NFT collection for people to purchase

Meta’s Instagram will soon implement in-app NFT minting and trading tools purchases.

The new minting and trading tools will be first available to a select group of creators before being made available to a larger public, according to Stephane Kasriel, Head of Commerce and Fintech at Meta.

“A small group of creators will soon be able to create digital collectibles (NFTs) and sell them right on Instagram.” – she added.

The most well-known NFT photographer, DrifterShoots, was among the creators selected for early access to the new Instagram NFT feature along with visual artists Isle Valfre and Amber Vittoria.

Meta has been expanding its Web3 ecosystem architecture over the past few months. The social media company introduced a wallet connection function earlier in May that enables a small number of people to instantly show their NFTs on their Instagram and Facebook pages.

A few months later, the internet giant allowed users in the US and more than 100 other countries to exhibit their digital art directly from their accounts on Facebook and Instagram.

This new Instagram feature will use the Polygon blockchain for NFT minting and NFT metadata from OpenSea to show the names and descriptions of the collection on Instagram.
