The position requires being responsible for increasing awareness of Google Cloud’s Web 3.0 activities besides developing client demand for the related services. Google is on the look for an applicant to head their Glocal Web 3.0 marketing approach, following their founding of a Web 3.0 team running under Google Cloud on May 6.

Google Cloud department listed a “Head of Product Marketing” job position whose responsibility would be to increase awareness of Google Cloud’s Web 3.0 activities besides developing client demand for the related services.

Amit Zavery, Vice President of Google Cloud, reputedly revealed his ambition to make Google Cloud the primary choice for developers in Web3 in an email sent to staff just before the team’s launch:

“While the world is still early in its embrace of Web3, it is a market that is already demonstrating tremendous potential with many customers asking us to increase our support for Web3 and crypto-related technologies.”

Along with leading marketing initiatives, some of the duties required for the position consist of building Web 3.0 yearly plans and increasing awareness among various groups of the Web 3.0 audience. The position is offered in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Sunnyvale only. This is Google’s first time seeking into Web 3.0, nonetheless being known to launch and abandon various internal actions.

Gavin Wood’s Opinion on Web 3.0

Polkadot (DOT) founder Gavin Wood discussed the growth of Web 3.0 with Cointelegraph during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2022. Web 3.0 apps do not need to expand beyond their current usage, according to Wood:

“I don’t think Web3 needs to evolve, really, from its origins too much yet, but maybe in the future, it will.”

Wood also discussed how Web 3.0 expanded the discourse beyond Bitcoin (BTC), smart contracts, and decentralized finance (DeFi) to the core technology that runs the crypto world.
