Wedding in 3D for 500 Guests: Indian Couple Gets Married In The Metaverse

The pandemic has changed our normal life for more than two years now. It has affected many lives and destroyed arranged plans of people. In this list, weddings take a significant role. However, there is good news about couples who want to get married and have a wedding despite the pandemic. Now, the Metaverse offers weddings in 3D, hosting as many guests as you want. 

An Indian couple has remarked the first wedding in the Metaverse. The couple wanted all of their loved ones to attend this special day. That is why they decided to have the wedding in the Metaverse. Understanding that Covid-19 restrictions make it impossible for many people to attend the event, they took things to the borderless virtual world.

Diving into more details of the metaverse wedding, it took place last Saturday in Bhopal, India. The wedding of Abhijeet Goel and Sansrati took place on Yug Metaverse at a seaside site.

The First 3D Metaverse Wedding

Sansrati and Abhijeet set up a beautiful coastal wedding scene accessible through Yug. There were more than 500 people that registered for the wedding. Users were able to do all the activities they do at actual weddings. They could alter their avatars, walk through the event, and dance on the dance floor. 

Furthermore, the attendees enjoyed the 3D metaverse wedding. A member of the Yug platform, Shashank, noted that the 3D experience in Metaverse was very similar to the real world. He further added the benefits of the Yug platform. Through the Yug platform, people can create their own events like marriages, exhibitions, art galleries, friends’ hangouts, and business conferences. 

Moreover, he emphasized that decentralization in the platform plays an important part in transforming different fields. According to him, a whole new experience will be available for businesses, education, and entertainment.

Lately, the Metaverse has been experiencing enormous growth around the world. Put it in simple words, it is a shared virtual environment where lots of services and experiences are provided. Avatars, buildings, property, and even names may be purchased and sold using cryptocurrency.

According to the research and consulting company Gartner, the future of the Metaverse seems to be bright. Experts claim that, by 2026, more than 25% of the global population will spend at least one hour every day in this virtual environment working, shopping, or doing other activities.

Meanwhile, the co-founder of the stable coin Tether (USDT), William Quigley, is very positive about developing non-fungible tokens (NFTs). According to Quigley, the NFTs will be the game-changer of the metaverse world.
